Sabrina Needs a New Beat!

Music producer Raz Klinghoffer has worked with some of the biggest names in hip-hop, including Kanye West, Rakim, Beanie Senna, and many others. He was also a major player in the early days of hip hop and rap, crafting some of the songs that became the staple of the genre. But it's his production work that really captures the attention, because Music producer Klinghoffer knows what hip hop fans want. This is the first time he's working with Klinghoffer since their sessions began in 1998. The results have been great so far, but now Music producer Raz Klinghoffer is back with a new album called No I.

"No I. Don't: Songs from the Black Room" comes out October 14th via Atlantic. There's still no track listing or track order yet, but Music Producer Klinghoffer has shared some of the songs that will be featured on the album. These songs are the standout tracks from albums that he's produced.

"Eulogy for a Dancehall Star" is one of those rare albums that is pure reggae. It's a great addition to No I. Don't, because it's so reggae. Plus, it's just about time that rap finally gets a little more rockin' and groovy.

Produced by none other than DJ Premier, "Eulogy for a Dancehall Star" is just what it sounds like. Premier brings it on full tilt in the song and the instrumental is great. But the real star here is Sabrina, who performs with aplomb on this album. She has a soulful voice that matches her fantastic reggae sound, and it works well for this album.

The beats on this album are really simple, which is good because they're not overly complicated. "My Dark Way" samples "Love is a Losing Game," which is an oldie but a goodie. This album features the beautiful "I Want To Hold Your Hand," which is done on a swell piano line. On top of all that, "Chante's Got A Man" samples "Bodhisattva." Both of these songs are on the same level as the classics we're all familiar with, but they don't have the edge that Sabrina gives them.
